AI Strategy
Jyske Bank partnered with Halfspace to integrate Generative AI across the organisation, aiming to boost employee productivity. The key challenge was embedding GenAI into existing processes in a way that was both effective and responsible.
In Brief
Challenge

Jyske Bank had laid a strong foundation for AI with a defined strategy in place, dedicated resources allocated, and active experimentation with GenAI. With an ambition to scale GenAI across the organization, the key challenge was to identify the potential, prioritize use cases and integrate it effectively and responsibly into existing business processes. To realize its strategic AI ambitions, Jyske Bank needed a partner with both a strategic perspective and deep technical expertise to focus efforts and build a scalable, technical roadmap.

Solution

A GenAI strategy with three main objectives: 1) define a tailored strategy and technical roadmap to establish an AI Agency aligned with the bank’s needs, 2) upskill top management and key stakeholders to navigate a responsible, full-scale GenAI rollout while advancing AI capabilities across 4,000 employees 3) ensuring organizational GenAI tool adoption.

Approach to Artificial Intelligence

Jyske Bank and Halfspace adopted a "think big, start small" approach, focusing on clearly defined, high-impact use cases to deliver quick wins and build momentum for broader adoption. A pragmatic approach helped employees to focus on relevant use cases, embracing the shift to utilise GenAl, even in a busy work environment, while enabling the Al CoE team to develop more complex, tailored solutions in parallel.

Target high-impact use cases through pragmatic wins

Jyske Bank and Halfspace adopted an “think big, start small” approach focusing on high-impact use cases with low-moderate effort to deliver quick wins. These early successes built momentum and encouraged broader adoption. The pragmatic approach made it easier for employees to embrace GenAI in a busy work environment and allowed the AI CoE team to learn while developing more complex, tailored AI solutions in parallel.

Local ownership drives AI transformation

A key success factor was the top management alignment and strong local ownership. With clear roles and responsibilities—from top management to business unit AI ambassadors. GenAI assistants were effectively identified and embedded into daily workflows. This structure, supported by leadership, helped foster a cultural shift and ensured lasting impact.

Upskilling builds trust in the technology

To ensure responsible and effective use of new GenAI tools, continuous upskilling of top management and employees was prioritized. This included both conceptual technical understanding and hands-on training. Transparent communication, knowledge sharing, and ongoing adoption support helped build trust in the technology and empowered leadership to make informed decisions on use case prioritization.
